Oman upsets Nepal in a thriller

The men’s national cricket team of Nepal slumped to a second consecutive defeat in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 in Canada. In a thrilling finish Oman registered an  upset 1 wicket victory over Nepal in a nail biting encounter  in the final over of the match. The highlight of the match was  Nepal’s speedster Gulshan Jha’s brilliant all round performance.He was  awarded man of the match  for scoring 53 runs and scalping 5 wickets. The other highlight was skipper Rohit Paudel’s  scintillating knock of  60 runs which was the  top individual score in the match.Unfortunately,the duo's valiant efforts went in vain. Oman stubbornly hung on to edge out the opposition at the end.The game was in balance  until the last over of the match,and it was any one’s match. The men’s national cricket team of Nepal got off to a disappointing losing start going  down to Canada in the ongoing ICC  Cricket World Cup League 2 in Canada. Canada put up an impressive performance to outplay the opposition by a convincing 103 runs. They batted and bowled well  to dominate the fixture which almost  turned out to be a one-sided contest. It was a  crucial match for  Nepal  which they couldn’t afford to lose in order  to  consolidate and improve their position in the table standings. The setback was a slap on the face for the team.Their World Cup  contention chances have now become more challenging and daunting. The men’s national cricket team of Nepal  has embarked on a  consequential  campaign to participate in  the ICC  Cricket World Cup League 2 Tri-Series  taking place in Canada and the United States. They will first compete in the tri-series in Canada followed by another series  against the United States and Scotland in  the United States.   Additionally, they will feature in two  Twenty20  tri-series in Canada and the United States  against the same oppositions  after the conclusion of the ICC World Cup League 2 series. Nepal is back to competing in the 50 over format after a long interval.They have played the Twenty20 format for the greater part of 2024. Presently, they are in Canada gearing up for the competition and keenly looking forward to covering lost ground and consolidating their position.
