Team Nepal Flops again

The national football team of Nepal blew up yet another golden opportunity to steady the ship in the 2019 Asian Football Confederation Asian Cup qualifiers played in Kathmandu. The home team’s  efforts to redeem themselves went in vain, following an insipid performance, which resulted in a disappointing defeat against Tajikistan, leaving local fans hugely  dejected, disappointed, frustrated and furious by the outcome. After the umpteenth lackadaisical  performance, there is pessimism about Team Nepal’s  prospect for progress. There are no excuses for the poor result whatsoever.  I have to admit the loss came as something of a surprise to me. I expected them at least to win a point. Instead, they ended up as the losing party at the end of the day. This is another big blow to the team that has been underperforming and slacking lately. It would not be an overstatement to say that Nepal has reached the unimaginable heights of mediocrity. The latest setback has made matters wo

Goal –Shy Nepal battles Tajikistan

In a crucial fixture, the national football team of Nepal takes on Tajikistan in the 2019 Asian Football Confederation Asia Cup Qualifiers in Kathmandu. For both teams, it has been a tale of struggle in the competition in terms of results so far. Evidently, they have to turn things around to keep their slim chances alive. Otherwise, they exit the tournament . In the F Group standings, Nepal with a point sits third, while Tajikistan at rock bottom is yet to open its account. The home team, however, goes into the match against the visitors with the favorites tag. The big question on ever

T he  natio nal football team of Nepal will be back in action against Tajikistan in the 2019 Asian Football Confederation Asian Cup Qualifiers in Kathmandu. The home side is in a must win situation to improve its standings in the group and remain alive in the competition. This is yet another golden opportunity for them to redeem some pride. With the top two teams moving from the group to the next round, there is plenty at stake for  Japanese Head Coach Koji Gyotoku’s  side. No doubt, Nepal find themselves in a precarious position as they face rock bottom of the group  Tajikistan in the crucial fixture. Having lost and drawn the last two matches, understandably they cannot afford another lackluster performance in order to have an outside chance of advancing to the next round. Otherwise, it would have had to bow out of the competition. For Nepal,  this would be their second successive home tie. So far things have not gone the way they wanted both in terms of performance and re
