Indian golfers dominate Surya Nepal Masters

Speaking of international sporting events    held in Nepal, Surya Nepal Masters Golf Championship    instantly    hits    my mind.   Whether    you agree or    not ,   this is     one    great     spectacle     played    out before us     every year. I understand     golf     is unappealing    to most in Nepal, however, the    local    golfing     fraternity   is     doing what it takes to   promote and   develop the sport. Without a doubt golf has a long way   to go in terms of development and popularity in the Himalayan kingdom regardless of its immense international   popularity .   The 2011 edition    of Surya   Nepal Masters Open is in the history book but I cannot resist myself from    turning back   the pages and pass my judgment to you. Since     the   championship teed   off   more than a decade ago   it    has grown   in stature. I had the privilege to    write    a great    deal about   it.   It all started from   the Royal   Nepal

Nepal's success in AFC Challenge Cup

Let me  start  by congratulating   our national football   squad for their success   in the   recently concluded Asian Football Confederation     Challenge Cup   Group D   qualifiers   held   in Kathmandu. For now I am one happy camper, though the team     looked far from     convincing, over all. I am one of those rare breeds   not   afraid to    speak my   mind, even if it upsets   people.   Win is a win no matter what. So is   success   be it in any shape or form. I completely agree. That said, come the   second   round next year, the real litmus test begins for the team. This is the only second time    Nepal has qualified to the next round of the tournament.     The     tournament   was   well received by football   goers and every match involving th

India reign supreme in world Cup

It   took   more   than two decades for   India   to win   the   World Cup cricket championship for the second time   at   the   expense of their   South Asian neighbor Sri Lanka played at the historic Wankhede stadium in Mumbai   in front of   a vocal and enthused partisan   crowd. The entire population of 1 billion plus erupted into    ecstasy     and     wild celebration, following skipper Mahendra    Singh Dhoni’s winning runs into the gallery. There     was every reason    for     the     cricket crazy     nation     to fully    rejoice    and celebrate the    triumph they had been yearning for so long.     India     peaked form at the most critical juncture of the championship and never looked behind from there on. They were a whole rejuvenated lot, following their wins over Australia and Pakistan in the quarter-final and semi-final respectively.     The final between the two      South Asian    giants    was    epic, riveting, enthrall
