Nepal needs solid batting against UAE

The national cricket team of Nepal  is back on the field as they gear up for the desert challenge against the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host  six matches in two formats of the game, one after another. The series kicks off  with the One Day International(ODI) consisting of three matches, followed by Twenty20 with the same number of matches. This is the second ODI series  for Nepal after attaining ODI status in 2018. They played the first two -match ODI series against the Netherlands in the Netherlands. As you may recall, Nepal made a roaring start to the ODI series,making history. Despite losing the opener, they won the  second match to square the series. It was a historical outcome and the result of a tremendous team effort. Looking back at 2018,cricket popularity in Nepal hit an all -time high,despite the suspension imposed on Cricket Association of Nepal by the International Cricket Council. ICC suspension over Nepal continues It has been more than two years, unfortunately, Nepal’s suspension remains intact. There are no signs of Nepal getting reinstated into membership of the International  Cricket Council (ICC), anytime soon. ICC, however, was generous enough to let Nepal  participate in international competitions,much to everyone’s relief. Politics ruins  Nepal cricket The fact of the matter is, politics  has ruined Nepal cricket for decades and  sadly, there seems to be no end in sight. Had  Cricket  Association  of Nepal (CAN)been free of political interference and factionalism,no doubt, the sport would have thrived and moved in the right direction.
