Enthralling day of football on card
The second day of the National Super League features two exciting, engrossing and enthralling matches .
The day kicks off with Biratnagar City FC and Dhangadi FC clash at Dashrath stadium. The matchup has the making of a thriller. The contest should live to its expectations and billing.I expect fireworks aplenty.
No wonder, the game has generated plenty of interest amongst football fans who are looking forward to a highly absorbing, entertaining and competitive duel.
The teams are evenly matched technically, tactically and physically. They have a bevy of skillful and energetic players with international experiences in abundance. They are ready to set up their game on the big stage on Sunday.
Biratnagar City’s experienced international midfielders Sunil Bal,Santosh Tamang and Hem Tamang does provide depth in midfield.
Besides, the team will heavily rely on their two veteran foreign recruits Uruguayan born Spanish Pedro Manzi and Nigerian Oluwabunmi for goals.
The defense spearheaded by the international duo marquee player Ranjeet Dhimal and Saroj Dahal looks formidable.
On the other hand,Dhangadi has a highly experienced quality midfielder in marquee player Bishal Rai. He is the playmaker and has the support of two internationals Pujan Uperkoti and Rupesh KC.
The combination of international duo Tanka Basnet, and Darshan Gurung alongside prolific goal scorer Nigerian Olawale Oladipo Afeez makes the offensive line look sharp.
In addition, the defense in the hands of international Nissan Khadka and Dinesh Rajbanshi appears safe. With iconic player and Nepal’s number one custodian Kiran Kumar Limbu in the goal, Dhangadi has the potential to spring a surprise over the opponent.
Biratnagar City has a young creative tactically efficient 28 year old head coach in Yan Cheng Law from Sikkim with Indian League credentials. He has the chance to prove himself.
Likewise, master tactician veteran head coach Nigerian Fuja Tope who knows how to win battles is in charge of Dhangadi
As there is no clear favorite the match is wide open. The team with clinical finish wins the battle in my opinion.
Pokhara Thunders FC vs Butwal Lumbini FC
The second match of the day, Pokhara Thunders FC vs Butwal Lumbini FC is another fascinating encounter on the cards.
Just like the first opening match of the day, there is no overwhelming favorite. The teams stand shoulder to shoulder in every department of the game.
To add, the squads are packed with highly skillful and experienced and internationally capped players and managed by successful coaches.
Head coach of Pokhara Nabin Neupane is no stranger. His team will heavily bank on his expertise and tactical skills for success.
With former international ace striker Anil Gurung, dangerous Moussa Abagan and prolific goal scorer Nawayug Shrestha in the attack alongside enterprising veteran Sujal Shrestha in midfield, Pokhara has a slight edge over the opposition .
In defense they have two experienced capped players in Dipak Gurung and Ajit Bhandari and a solid defender in Ketcha Wannick( foreign recruit).
It would be a huge mistake to take Butwal Lumbini lightly. Their strength lies in midfield packed with promising capped youngsters in the likes of Seshang Angdembe Limbu , Jaya Gurung ,Amir Shrestha , Laxman Ruchal and Anil Maharjan.
They see this as a great opportunity to prove themselves and are committed to leave no stones unturned.
The presence of speedy striker Chadian Armand Beadoum Bhai adds strength to the somewhat suspect offense. Upcoming attacking duo Suman Lama and Aashish Lama have the talent to strike it rich.
International marquee player Bishal Shrestha is a quality custodian. The presence of two veterans, former skipper of the national team Birat Maharjan and Rabin Shrestha alongside Suraj BK and Randip Paudel creates a strong defensive line .
Creative midfielders duo Nigerian Omolaja Nurain Mareem and Ghanaian William Opoku Asiedu with Indian League experiences can have a big impact on the game.
The team that plays positive and total football throughout will prevail at the end.
