Poor batting continues to hinder Nepal’s progress

  Nepal’s  performance in the recently concluded men’s ICC World Cup Twenty20 cricket championship jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States fell short of  everyone's expectations. Playing only in their second World Cup,the youngest outfit in the tournament failed to deliver the desired results.Given the team’s vast potential,everybody expected a much better performance from the young  lads. More importantly,they had the opportunity to prove themselves and galvanize the cricketing world on the game’s biggest platform.They sure did miss the chance. Contrary to high expectations,they  were far from impressive, especially in the batting department.They put in an average performance and were unable to rise to the occasion. In  other words,they faltered and failed to do justice to their talent,making a hash  of the chance. They wound up the championship winless, losing all the three matches in the group stage to exit the competition...

Defeat hard to digest for Team Nepal

The defeat  at the hands of South Africa put an end to the men’s national cricket of Nepal’s  challenge in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup  cricket tournament in Kingstown,St.Vincent, West Indies.  It was a must win fixture   for Head Coach Monty Desai boys to stay  in contention for a spot in the Super Eight. Having already qualified for the Super Eight and unbeaten in the championship, the  Proteas were overwhelming favorites against Nepal.  Given their  records,vast experiences, batting depth and bowling strength,they were expected to make short work of the opposition. Contrary to expectations, rank outsiders Nepal shocked and  surprised the seasoned opponent by a solid performance and csme very close to inflicting a  stunning defeat. No end to Nepal’s misery in World Cup football qualifiers

  The latest setback for the men’s national football team of Nepal in the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asia Cup qualifiers in Dammam,Saudi Arabia was not a surprise. Nepal went down meekly to formidable United Arab Emirates  0-4 for the second time in the group  match.  It may be recalled that  in the first meeting between the two sides, the Middle East powerhouse triumphed by an identical score. As a matter of fact, taking into account Nepal’s  recent string of poor results and performance  slump, defeat was inevitable and a foregone conclusion.
