Nepal lose to England by a whisker in World Cup

Nepal came very close to celebrating historic upset victory over  favorites England in their opener of the men’s ICC World Cup Twenty20 World Cup in Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, India only to lose by a  mere heartbreaking four runs. England was expected  to have an easy passage to victory but as the match panned out,they barely managed to survive  after  much suspense and drama.   Nepal had a glorious opportunity to  upset  the applecart when the game came down to the last ball of the final over. Team Nepal eyes new heights of cricketing glory in T20 World Cup

  Come February 8th,the men’s national cricket team of Nepal will be under the spotlight when their  campaign in the  ICCMen’s Twenty20 World  Cup gets underway in Mumbai, India. They take on heavyweight England  in the opener of the Group C match.Apart  from Nepal and England,West Indies,Scotland and Italy are the other teams in the group . This  is Nepal’s third World Cup appearance .They made their  World Cup debut  in  2014 in Bangladesh in an impressive manner. The team then led by Paras Khadka  recorded wins against Afghanistan and Hongkong, and went down fighting to the hosts Bangladesh.The competition provided them the big opportunity to  display their potential to the cricketing world,which they did to earn praise and recognition from all quarters. Nepal women’s cricket team makes early exit from Global World Cup Qualifier

The women’s  national cricket team of Nepal’s run in the recently  concluded ICC Global World Cup Twenty20 Qualifier was short lived, following  three defeats and one victory  in Kathmandu recently. The home team’s dream of  a record  breaking performance to qualify  for the championship round in the annals  of Nepal cricket history proved futile. In retrospect, with two defeats and one win they faced Scotland in a must win game to make  it to the super sixes and  keep  their dream afloat in the tournament. After slumping to two straight defeats at the hands of Thailand and the Netherlands,they reignited hopes of a bounce back after recording their first  victory in the tournament .
