Mixed results for Team Nepal in Australia

  The men’s national cricket team of Nepal concluded a  productive and strategically important tour of  Australia recently. As part of the preparations for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Asia and East-Pacific Qualifiers, taking  place in Oman  from  October 8 to 17th, they competed in the  top notch fourth edition of  the Top End T20 series held in Darwin, Australia for the first time. Hosts Oman, Nepal,Papua New Guinea,Kuwait, Malaysia,Kuwait,Qatar, Japan,Samoa and UAE are  in  the  fray for the crucial qualifiers. The teams  have been divided into three groups.Nepal is in group 2 alongside Kuwait and Japan. At stake are three spots for the final round of the ICC Men’s T39 World Cup 2026 to be jointly held by India and Sri Lanka. Creating optimal environment for Women’s football in Nepal is imperative

The Under-20 Women’s national football team of Nepal’s  quest to qualify for the  AFC Under-20  Women’s  Asia Cup Qualifiers concluded in disappointment in Thimphu, Bhutan recently. Drawn in Group A alongside Bhutan, Saudi Arabia and North Korea,Nepal ended second behind defending champions North Korea. The winners of each group qualified for the final round.Besides,there were three qualifying spots at stake for the  best  runners-up teams in terms of points and goal difference. The Nepali outfit entered the qualifiers with  a new level of confidence and optimism.They had to maximize their potential and perform at their very best to deliver the result. Given his burly frame,at first glance anyone can mistake him for  a professional pugilist. His broad shoulders and muscular chest perfectly suits him to the  profile of a boxer. No wonder he  has earned  the nickname of  Hulk.Interestingly,he has another romantic nickname Valentine Boy as well.
