For the second time Dasharath Rangasala (stadium) was deemed unfit for Nepal’s upcoming 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asia Cup qualifying  match against the United Arab Emirates. The decision was made by the Asian  Football Confederation(AFC)  officials upon inspection of the field.  They concluded that  the playing surface lacked proper maintenance work,resulting in unevenness and inconsistency.  Also they found the floodlights in the stadium not up to  the standards set by the world football governing body. Apparently uneven turf dotted with bumps, divots and holes puts players at an elevated risk of injuries and adversely affects performance. The  playing surface must be in line with international standards regardless.Players safety must never ever be compromised. The West Indies A edged  out hosts Nepal to win the Twenty20  five match series in Kathmandu recently. Despite losing the opener,the visitors bounced back strongly to win  three straight games to seal the series 3-2. The home team got off to a dream start by winning the opening match in front of a massive  boisterous partisan crowd. They turned in a strong collective effort, combining consistent bowling and batting performance to  stun the opposition in the first game. At that point, things looked promising  for the local outfit  and it seemed as though they stood a good chance to win the series against a relatively formidable opponent.
